Baran originally showed up as a character in a Star Wars campaign, as the owner of a flying brothel- that campaign died before it had truly been born, and the character image stuck in my head. So when a friend decided to run a little AD&D campaign, I recreated him as a fighter. This picture was commissioned then, in 1992. He's one of those characters I'd like to play again sometime.
