I can't believe it's actually been a whole year since I got this guy! I was joking with myself that a year probably passed and I never drew him... and then I check when I got him and it was almost spot on....
Amazing.
But anywho, this is my dreamy, Salmon, who I never really mention much because I usually like to quietly get commissions of him to spoil him. I've been building his story and another dreamy's story for a while now, and I'm very happy that I finally managed to draw Salmon at least. ;;
Salmon is a very calm and responsible and obedient dreamy who many esteem due to his extremely good temperament. He is owned by a man who at first didn't really desire a dreamy at all because he already had a demanding writing career to handle but was lucky enough to come across Salmon and purchase him when he was really young at an extremely expensive price. His owner was the one who gave him the name of "Salmon" because the dreamy reminded him of his father who was a responsible fisherman who would always bring home a salmon which was the son's favorite dish. Salmon helps the guy by organizing his paperwork, cooking meals, and doing a few indoor and outdoor chores. Knowing how to read and speak, Salmon also helps others around the neighborhood who may be illiterate or blind by reading to them important things so they can get though life easier.
His owner didn't ever teach him to write however for some reason, and refused to teach him to write whenever Salmon insisted about being taught. Salmon always admired how well his owner wrote and doesn't understand why it would be an issue if he were to learn himself. Despite his frustration, Salmon respected his owner's wishes for a while... but when give an opportunity by one of his owner's friends who was a writing teacher on the side, Salmon took writing classes in secret. He knows if his owner finds out about Salmon's ability to write, he'll be scolded, but Salmon wants to be prepared to help his owner still do his job if an unfortunate event leads to his owner's hand being injured or even completely disabled.
Sometimes he watches over a very spoiled and young dreamy named Prince (who I'll draw when I have time to do so) whenever his owner goes to meet with Prince's owner. (His owner has a bit of a crush on Prince's owner, but he never acts upon it because he's a shy man when it comes to really nice ladies like her *snorts*-- I still have no idea what either look like and need to design them/buy some designs that could be them XDD) Salmon doesn't mind babysitting Prince for the most part, and is the most patient being who can even handle Prince without yelling at him. Sometimes he lets Prince braid his hair or put his hair into ponytails, however his hair is off-limits to anyone else. Salmon has a strange attraction to Silkbuns, and is extra happy to be over at Prince's house so he can see Prince's hired Silkbun guardian/bodyguard, Walter (also known as Watermelon, nickname given by Prince). Salmon isn't afraid to let Watermelon know he has a crush on him, but Watermelon usually tries his best to keep aloof about the whole thing.
He can take care of himself pretty well, styling his own hair and cleaning himself often, though sometimes he needs help cleaning his tail. One flaw Salmon has is that he doesn't really like asking for help and wants to be the one helping all the time... And this can lead to his deep needs being suppressed for a long time. Nevertheless Salmon does his best to keep a calm and open mind about everything so he can be available whenever needed.
Whoop didn't mean to write all of that, but eh, I was excited about his story for a while. XDD I have no idea what setting/era they will live in... my idea is that my Dreamies, Silkbuns, and a few other anthros live in a human+anthro world where humans are usually in power and anthros are a level below them. There would be some towns with only humans, some with only anthros, and a few where the two are meshed together into one big city. Anthros could roam around without clothing in anthro only towns, but are required to wear clothing when going into human/human+anthro towns/cities by law. No human would set foot in an anthro town, for many of the residents in the anthro only towns want to live away from humans, loathe them, or were forced to live in it. And only anthros that work for delivery services would go into human only towns, which consist of humans who fear and/or hate them.
There are only a few type of anthros that are owned as pets since many prefer to live as equals to humans or it is banned in certain parts of the world to own one as a pet. I imagine Salmon, my other dreamy, my silkbuns (another species by coynu), and Blakrye (Species by The_Jotaku) live in the same city where the humans generally like anthros/tolerate them and vice versa.
