Experimentation is really good, I love the pose and expression in this it makes it look very feral looking which is great! In regards to your colouring I think if you keep trying new things you'll find a blend of techniques that will work well together and you'll end up with with your own unique colouring style!

I think this came out very well. I would like to learn to be better with color as well.

This came out pretty cool! I love all the brush strokes going on here. If I may suggest something for playing with colors, I'd recommend trying to work in some more hues and tie the BG and subject together more. Like in the mouth you've got a great purple-blue melding going on there, it'd be awesome to see some more of that going on the rest of the subject. Again, I really like the style going on here, and that blur at the bottom adds a lot of dynamic to this as well!

Purple lion = win. I think you rock at drawing various colors. The shading on the lion is incredible, so many different purples!
