I had a hard time deciding what colors to use on this tail and how to lay it out but I finally came up with a design that I am happy with. Originally I wanted to have feathers fanning out from the sides but real feathers were too fragile and fake ones...well they looked like shit...
They aren't very visible in this picture but the entire "eye" of the tail is accented with the same metallic paints that are one the face of the mask. The pictures kill the vibrant colors of this tail but I hope I was able to do it justice.
