After much delay, my favorite top laners: Wukong, the Monkey King; Olaf, the Berserker; and Renekton, the Butcher of the Sands. Just the three of them kicking back and enjoying some Graggy Ice. Well, two of them, at least.
I really enjoy the role, even though at the beginning I started with Soraka supporting everyone. It wasn’t until I saw the Noxus vs. Ionia match that I even considered trying the jungle. Eventually I picked up the desire to try my best to know how to play each role. My reasoning was so that I can fill the empty slots on a team, and over time I learned how to play at least one champion for each.
The top lane role turned out to be one of my favorites. Tanks were one of my favorite team roles in World of Warcraft behind healers, and most top lane picks are designed to be the front line, running defense and interference for their team. But enough about that, most of you who play LoL know these things already. :D
Wukong has always been a favorite of mine. His backstory, his design, his gameplay, it all oozed fun. He left his jungle because he was the best there, and came to the League to truly become the best. After training under Master Yi, and being gifted his armor and staff, he began to work hard at beating all those who came up against him. He’s pretty strong, his abilities synergize well, and his ultimate, Cyclone, is very fun to use. But getting there isn’t hard, he can farm well, his passive adds a bit of survivability, and he’s very tricky and sly in his gameplay, dashing, vanishing, and bashing his way to victory.
Olaf didn’t really catch my attention until his Brolaf skin was released. I loved it so much I bought it and him as soon as it came out, and it’s just so enjoyable to play as the bro. Chucking axes, cleaving through enemies like a lumberjack, and bashing his target so hard that he hurts himself, before becoming a one-man juggernaut and ripping through the team, blood in his eyes as he charges for the squishy in the back. It’s the little things in life.
He’s gone through lots of changes since I started playing him, going from being uber, to being uber suck, to now being stronger than average. But nothing changed about his design, and that kept me a fan the whole way through. BROMACIA!!!
Renekton I originally had disliked based on his story. Murderous, insane, and the mortal enemy of his brother, Nasus, who at the time I greatly enjoyed playing. It wasn’t until he was free a week many months after his release that I figured, “Ah, screw it,” that I tried him out. With a kit designed for getting in your face and slicing you to ribbons, he was the bloodthirsty and aggressive top laner I never knew I craved. He’s tanky, powerful, and dominates both early and late game if you manage to stay safe and know when to press and when to stay back and farm. My most recent pick, but beat out some of my older ones such as Garen, Nasus, and Jayce. And his Pool Party skin is just too much fun not to use.
And those are my favorite top laners. Please let me know what you think, who your personal favorites, everything. I’d love to hear from everyone. This was a really fun one to draw, and I really enjoyed working on it. :D

Heh, well this should be fun...
Lemme see... a lot of my favorite champions arent limited by their role, since I use many of them in 3's and 5's both. But i'll try to cover it well enough.
For general champs, udyr, Maokai, Galio, Heimer, Pantheon, Lux, annie and thresh.
A lot of the champs I enjoy wax and wane over time but those are probably the big ones.
Udyr is my go to champion in many situations, the way i play him has changed drastically over the years as my skill has increased, but overall hes been one of the only champs ive played since i picked him up in season 2. Originally, I picked him up when I was talking to my friends. I asked who were some champions that nobody plays or understands, and they pointed him out. Originally I tried to play him like an adc but now I like to think I'm much better with him, especially considering he helped me get to gold :)
Maokai is another remnant of the season 2 odd picks. I loved his design and he had enough weird factor in his build to convince me to try him out. I fell in love with his saplings immediately and have played him on and off for a while now, though I seem to be the only person who still does. He also helped me get to gold.
Galio I picked up because I needed a tank and his design seemed interesting enough. I didnt go nuts over him at first but got better with him over time until he just joined the list of odd champions i loved.
Heimer had this odd mix of charm and scientific insanity that judt drew me to him. I didnt play him much until a about 4 -5 months before his rework was announced but he seemed interesting and difficult to master.
Pantheon I picked long ago when my champion choices were based largely on aesthetics and how little i knew about a champion. Panth had a really awesome sounding set of skills and i loved his design. Hes been an on and off champ over the years for me.

Heheh, I like a bunch of those too.
I'm a bit jealous of how good you are on Udyr, since he's one of my absolute fave champions too, for both mechanic and aesthetic reasons. Whenever we play, Trundle works for me though, he meshes well with my playstyle. Of course I wish I could play real games more often myself but solo queue... yeah no. :D
I remember Galio. I like him. Now if only there wasn't so much CC as to make him almost worthless. XD
Heimer is fun, in any form. I played him before, but he's just as good after the changes.
Panth I never got into. But I can see why people like him. :)
Thanks, I'm happy to hear about your faves too, they're all very cool. :D
