Furries ruin everything!
This is a little project I had in mind for almost a year now... Furry SPEHSMAREENS!
I once read a Dakka-Dakka Forum Thread about how people ruin 40K by bringing My little Pony and Furry characters into the universe. That made want to do it even more xD
I perfectly understand the "problems" with bringing those two things together (even though mutants/animal hybrids and even a feline race exists in the 40k universe). This is more meant to be a fun non-canon project which will probably turn into a small army one day.
The biggest problem was finding a suitable head. With the Space Wolves already beeing there, I didn't want to focus this fun army on canines. I saw some pretty nice Cat-Styled Space Marine helmets on puppetswar.eu and so I was settled on big-cats (maybe the army will have different squads of different species in the end). But helmets are not as fancy as actual heads...
After days of search, I finally found a Tabletop System which had a feline race made of plastic (because metal is harder to work with without the tools): Alkemy, a french game which sadly is already dead. But I was lucky to find some left over supplies in an american store.
The base miniature is a Lion Guard (which are based on the dark angels) from https://www.sciborminiatures.com. Very great quality, though the only problem I have with those is that they say it is 28mm (GW size) but...it is not. The model is quite bigger than a normal Space Marine. If you put him next to an Imperial Guard Soldier, he'd actually have the size of an real Space Marine.
Ok, off with their heads! I sacrificed a pretty nice tiger warrior for the head and sliced off the head from the original mode. Then I moddeled the mane out of greenstuff (it is so much easier to work with if you use some LUBE! :D)
I couldn't decide on a color-scheme yet so I just made his armor Gold with black parts in between.
The miniature is magnetized in the front boot so I can attach him to a normal terminator base, because the display base is pretty high. (Who needs cover?)
Haven't decided on a name yet, but he'll be the chaptermaster. Those pics were made with my smartphone, I hope to get some better shots with good lighting soon.
