Inspired by and based on Mamoru Hosoda’s “Wolf Children”
After watching the anime movie "Wolf Children" I was profoundly affected and supremely unhappy with the ending. It was driving me insane, but Trickster was kind enough to help me find peace and closure by writing this. The events and characters leading up to this chapter are inspired directly from the movie, though names and the form of lycnathropy were changed to adopt it into the Lykos universe. Tsukamu is obviously an original creation.
I hope anyone that was affected by the movie will find this chapter healing, and I hope anyone that hasn't seen the movie will still enjoy these characters and the emotional depth of this collaborative work as much as I have.

A family divided, wounded by the passage of time... Roads divergent and fate separated. A wolf heads into the Japanese countryside to do what he can to reunite a family and heal the hurt left by a decision several years ago.

Yeah, that seems to be a recurring comment on SF as well... That parting of the ways isn't as sad in Eastern Culture as it is here.
Hmm. Princess Mononoke... I don't know if I'd consider it quite as severe. They aren't family, and he even says he'll visit her so there's that promise of reunion even if they aren't together now...
But yeah, after writing this story I feel much better about Wolf Children.

I don't think I could avoid writing Isamu again even if I wanted to. He's so very unique!!!
I think I just felt miserable because Ame's mother worked so hard and then was like... childless and alone, lol. I would have been okay if they'd shown more of an 'ending' ending or something, but it was still wonderful. The art and music are so sublime!

Interesting read, although i must apologise for hesitating to read it. I just didn't want any spoilers to the movie it was inspired by before i get to see it.
Finaily got the nerve to read it without worrying about it though lol. I got to say it was a very deep chapter that got me all emotional.
