Olgantha: Agdolis, God of Order and Justice by PsykoBruttan
Holy symbol of Agdolis, ascended god of Order and Justice
Agdolis:
Prayer to Agdolis is most prevalent in the city-state of Agdolon where hundreds of years ago, through his leadership, the water-bound community rose from a literal backwater to a capital of altruism and magnanimity, accepting any and all who wished to build a new life there. He was a mysterious figure as a mortal and remained so upon ascension after his living death. He frequently used intermediaries to communicate his wishes and trusted those who trusted in him implicitly. A small but vocal sect of the Agdolites in the last few decades has been attempting to make an appeal to retract all records of Agdolis as a man, citing “lost” documents proving that Agdolis was a woman. Another sect has put forward their belief that Agdolis is trapped in the bodies of the many peafowl across the estate of Agdolon but was imprisoned to a person when one of the sacred birds were served for communion, claiming that they should partake of the body of Agdolis (note: killing a peacock in Agdolon is a life sentence).
Practicing priests of Agdolis within the last few centuries, male and female, take a vow of celibacy. Given the widespread sterility caused by the Day of Radiance, this practice has become a point of contention between adherents and dissenters alike.
The commandments of Agdolis are simple, but dogma to his (or her) followers:
Extend your hand to any that may seek your mercy.
Seek out injustice in the world within the laws of your present domain.
Gather only enough to fortify your stores and give what you can to those that have not.
As has been seen in the years after Agdolis’ ascension, the kingdom of Agdolon became a prison for those deemed undesirable and atrocities were committed against them in the name of prosperity for the common races. Agdolis taken to an extreme results in excesses in pride and tyranny. Take heed and remain humble.
The goblins seem to have an analog to Agdolis they call “The Tower King”, a ruthless tyrant hellbent on subjugating the so-called “common races”.
