A PROBLEM MOVED

LORD JAGUAR
Pacing was all he could do, it was just about the only option left open to him. How did he get backed into a corner like this so quickly and by teenagers. TEENAGERS! Plus those those kids except for the Softsong girl where nothing but delinquents.
“So then how have they backed you into a corner?” Principle Longclaws asked himself. The sandslash sighed he knew how to run a school but The Rebels where getting beyond him.
He looked out the window at the final option he had allowed himself before the disaster. He had called the rival high school for a grudge match for Homecoming. Maybe they could do it.
Longclaws look out the window and saw Hiro stepping into the ring against a rather large Tropius. The grass pokemon started laughing at the diminutive fighter as the bell rang. Longclaws blinked and the fight was over. The Tropius was unconscious about halfway across the arena and Hiro was walking off the field.
He couldn’t watch the other matches he knew how they would turn out. The Rebels would win and he would still be in his corner.
His office door opened and a very concerned looking exploud stepped in. Longclaws watch as his head coach took a seat.
“They’re going to win.. again.” Coach Choppers said in a dejected tone.
“I know”
“Well should I set up the faculty match?” Choppers started to ask but he was cut off by Longclaws angry response.
“Of course not it would be a disaster to do so!” Longclaws shouted, “We could never allow ourselves to sink so low to actually battle our students and!”
“We’d get our poke balls handed to us”, Choppers finished. “Look Longie when you made that offer to the Rebels nobody thought they would carry through but they have so.”
“I know, I know”, Longclaws groaned. In his mind he flashed back to the start of the year. In an effort to cut down on fights in the hallways and other misbehavior he told the Rebels that if they kept out of trouble and won all their school matches he would let them have a fight with the school faculty. In the last two months he had set them up with seniors, thrown together teams, anyone! But they had come through and he would have to fight them. But he was a horrible fighter, how could he maintain respect in his school when a student beat him on the field?
“ I sent a letter to Principal Felinduce at the PCA hopefully he can send a few ringers so we don’t look like total fools.” Longclaw sighed “Until I get a response tell them that the match is postponed but it will take place.”
“Smoke isn’t going to like that he wants you in the arena BAD!”
“Yes well young Mr. Flameshell is just going to have to be patient for a little while longer. It will only take a few weeks to receive an answer to my query. And yes coach I asked about the assistant coach job but don’t get your hopes up.”
Chopper grinned as he left the office and Longclaw returned to the window as he peered out the young torkoal in question was laying a carvanha out. Smoke looked up and pointed at Longclaws, the principal gulped as he looked at the score 4-0 in favor of the Rebels. In any other situation he would be pleased that his school had won Homecoming.
Several Weeks Later
In The Pokemon Combat Academy for Higher Learning chaos reigned behind the closed doors of Felinduce’s office as two dittos frantically tried to fill some very big paw prints.
“Oh my Arceus This is CRAZY the temp agency said we would only be here a few days! It’s been a whole week.” Ditto one exclaimed!
“I don’t know the report said that they went to check on some Lucario kid. What if… they don’t come back? What are we going to do?” Ditto two worried.
“I don’t know lets just keep on with the paper work, They’ll come back soon this school is Felinduces life from what I heard about him.” Ditto one said. Arceus I hope that sounded confident the ditto thought as he reached for another letter.
“O.K we have a letter here from a Mr. Longclaw who is a former student of the Academy and he is asking for some help with a troublesome team in the high school that he works at. The team has been undefeated for the entire school year, grades are fair, but a lot of discipline problems with a few of them.”
“O.K I’ll get the scholarship forms and process them.” Ditto two said. As it hurriedly began to work .
“But wait that’s not what he’s asking for..” Ditto one stammered. Oh well it thought as it settled in to read the rest of the letter. If what he is saying in here is true about them then the best place would be the PCA. Eh a nice recommendation for a Coach Choppers I’ll just file that for now.
Still more weeks later
Longclaws could feel the bounce in his step as he headed to the schools gym, his problems are over! Can the day get any better Longclaws thought as he opened the gym door.
“Hey lookie here old Yellowclaws has decided ta visit us here!” Smoke shouted from a set of free weights.
“Now now Smoke don’t be rude to the principal” Stormy cautioned from a rowing machine. The Altaria’s clouds rolling with her strokes.
“Yeah he’s only been dodging us for a whole month Stormy,” Bling called out from spotting Smoke. “ So that should rate one yellow claw not a whole set.”
The whole group laughed at the sableye’s joke except for the Hariyama who was doing sit-ups on a mat slightly separated from the group. Guns just grunted as he worked.
“ Aww now don’t get upset der Yellowclaws it will only be yer self respect ya lose when I get yas in da arena.” Smoke sneered. More clouds than bellowed out of the torkoal as he lifted an impressive set of weights.
“Yeah…and I grunt.. sure.. won’t be … taking ..all the crap.. Uhh you’ve sent…. my way for da…da last few years yrrgh…personally in our match Yellowclaws.” Smoke grinned as he finished his set. “I just wanna be sure that da thought of me kicking yer ass isn’t why we ain’t had our little get ta gather yet.”
“Ahh young Mr. Flameshell you brought most of my crap as you called it on yourself. The fights you “found” and all the trouble you have all caused me. Why Mr. Glinteyes I will forever remember the time that you where selling ahh tours of the girls locker room. I‘m almost sorry that the Rebels are no longer my problem.” Longclaws smirked.
“What, We ain’t done nothing, I plead the fifth!” Three of the four young mons exclaimed at once. The shouting continued until Hiro stood up walked between his teammates and the smirking principal.
“QUIET!” Hiro shouted surprising all the verbal combatants.
“Now if you would be so kind to explain your remarks Principal Longclaws?” Hiro calmly asked.
“Well I had written to my old teacher at the Pokemon Combat Academy about some proper competition for you and apparently he sees some potential in all of you. Although I personally think that he has lost his mind but I now have four full scholarships to the Pokemon Academy for Higher learning in my office with your names on them. All you need is your parents signatures and you will have some real competition in just a few days.”
Longclaw smirked as the Rebels jaws hung open he turn to leave with a spring in his step. As the door closed behind them a loud I’M FREE was heard echoing throughout the school.
The four young fighters looked at each other with shocked expressions.
‘Da Pokemon Combat Academy for Higher Learning.” Smoke whispered.
“Where champions are made,” Bling said slightly louder.
“My parents are gonna go NUTS!” Stormy yelled.
“Some true competition at last.” Guns simply said.
In a second all four of them where shouting and slapping each others backs. Celebrating ranting on how their parents would be proud of them and the incredible fights that they would now be having. Their celebrations carried on into most of their homes as family and friends now celebrated good fortune.
All the families, except for Hiro’s, gathered at the local Pizza Mon before the new students left to toast to future success. But it was Smoke who summarized what the mon where all feeling with one simple toast.
“Look out PCA the Rebels are coming! And you will never be da same!”
