A basic infantry unit first deployed in WW3, fully automated, durable and deadly but not very intelligent.
To compensate this disadvantage they can be equipped with a neural network(commando units only) wich overrides the robots rudimentary AI.
Powered by a fusion reactor wich can run a the MKI (with enough fuel) for several thousand years.
Mass production started 2089 three years after the beginning of WW3

But they're very primitive built and cheap and very easy to upgrade, so yes there are some similarities.
