I would definitely not want to leave that on during the night. This system already can drain the battery if I hook it up directly to the battery where it would stay on even when the car is off.

I'm guessing you're using it for wardriving, or using the cellphone to convert your data plan to PC wifi.

I think you're the first viewer to notice the device on top of the router. I don't have much experience in hacking networks, so wardriving is out of the question. And that "device" does have something to do with it, but it isn't a cell phone.

Yep. The ipod is running airfloat, an app that makes it into an airplay server. I can connect to my car's wifi and stream it over the router to my ipod which plays it over the radio. It's all wireless and expensive enough to make me paranoid of who's around my car

I could have done the same, but it's just not complex and confusing enough for me I love it when people ask me why there's a network around school named after me. I've also been thinking about doing a prank on the tech guy by making the router broadcast an SSID identical to the school's and leave it unlocked so anybody can join it. Staff would hear about it pretty quickly and try to lock it only to find out that they can't log into the setup page of the router. I can already see the (Did I mention obese?) network admin running around the school trying to find the rogue router. I could put it in my bag with a 12v battery and keep it running for a good 7 hours before it starts shutting down. I'm somewhat like the evil troll on the network at school. A few years ago a renovation put all of the lighting systems on an automated system that was connected to the internet to show how much was being saved. A friend and I decided we would play with that system and set the lights in the main office to strobe every 2 seconds. Even though there was a light switch in there to turn them off, that switch was connected to the network, not the actual lights. They had no control over them and the network admin eventually figured out about it and set it back to normal about 2 hours later. Later that day, some of the people who work in the office complained about headaches
