Do you know the history of the mosque? Why was it abandoned?

The mosque, being a part of the fortress, was abandoned as the fortress itself was abandoned. It is unclear when it was abandoned, though.

It always makes me so curious when a structure that was obviously well made gets abandoned, with no records as to why.
