If you don't know Zan and her Miss Vixie Love, then you are seriously missing out on life. I immediately associated her description with Marilyn Monroe and was inspired by a pic of Marilyn holding a parasol. So yeah, sort of random and totally a different tangent from my last submission. n.n Practicing backgrounds, like whoa.
Listened to a lot of Big Black Delta while working on this.

She looks FUCKING INCREDIBLE omg i am so sorry but i am ver excite right meow. I just really cannot believe this. Like at all. a;lskdfjalsdf
Okay so I have actually been thinking A LOT about China lateley and how I want to visit it super bad and this totally has that feel to it. Especially with that amazing background you added. I LOVE how you toned down the blue and made it a bit steely. In my opinion, what makes a good scene is less technique but more feel. If I can -feel- like I'm really there then I think it's perfect. And I definitely get that feeling from this like 1000%. Even how you added the little beach behind her in addition to the mountains and sky.
ALSO another thing I must note is that this for sure has a vintage feel to it. Which is the one thing I love and hope for when drawing Vixie. So the way you pulled it off just omg. The style of the clothing does a lot for it. It really looks like 40's beach pinup stuff. Almost like it could be a photo from WWII era. And the parisol is fucken sweet man. Now we have both drawn umbrella art for eachother haha.
Technically I think the anatomy is perfect for her body type and I really love that you illustrated the palm of her hand like that. Open hands are kind of a bitch to draw so much respect for making it look amazing. And all the little details and highlights in the fur especially that tail that i want to WEAR FOREVER just everything is perfect. Markings, everything. And I almost cried when I saw how you illustrated the hair.
I just..oh god I was not expecting this and now I'm gonna be looking at it alll daaay. Thank you so much Liana. This is really incredible. You have out done yourself. Can I share it on tha face book??? I want to show everyone how much better I am than them for having this. Youuuuuuuu are amazing.

I was super inspired by kimonos, really cool that it reads "China" because I was totes channeling Asia! Side note: Holy hell FA sort of destroys the quality. I put it on DA and it looks MUCH more crisp over there x.x; Um, I still love that umbrella art you made me all those millions of years ago <3 Tried really hard not to make her a twig... I make everyone waaaaaaay to skinny always. It is nice to work with some curves for a change!! Thank you for letting me practice this stuff on your character, mercilessly and without permission. u.u Hands are hard, I fucking hate hands. Somehow this one didn't give me much trouble. I THINK its because YOU are AWESOME.

I cannot stop looking at her face. I absolutely adore how you did the eyes. And the overall shape of the face and maw is just too perfect. And how you made the ear tufts omg. You even made her teeth green!!! I don't know how you have accomplished such a realistic feel when her color scheme is so over the top like that. Something having to do with how you did the color of everything i think. I'm not sure. But it's unreal.

Alls I did was take the colors and dull them down a little. Sounds hella lame LOL. That and I used some of the sky color on the land bits cuz a friend suggested I actually give it atmosphere... IDK if that was exactly what he meant BUT it did something so... yeah. XD

I think its really amazing that you used subtleties such as color landscape and clothing shape to create the Asian feel. Many artist go straight to cherry blossoms and certain buildings and just in ya face obvious Asian stuff which isn't at all a bad thing, its just really refreshing to see it done this way. I think that's what makes it feel so genuine. And I have always loved the way you draw bodies. I think you made her look really natural here; may sound weird but one of my favorite things is how natural her shoulders and chest look. I can actually see her shoulders rolled forward and her chest sink in a little which is just like miraculous to me. I feel like its really difficult for me to pose bodies without making them look/feel too rigid or 2-D. That's why I'm so amazed by just that little spot in and of itself. ^^
