the background is way more ~present/attendant~ now,
it changed the character of the comic quite a bit it think,
hmm, how to describe,
from my point of view:
like as if it was a play at a theatre before, with an more abstract/reduced stage design coming with that, focusing the attention automatically primary at the actors that way. As it is at theatres.
Now it is more like a movie, the background is now a "equitable actor", ~stealing~ some attention from the actors, but enriching the overall impression.
(I hope I could make myself understood)
The new way also seems time consuming, 200% to 300% as before I would guess.
