Old photo of me and my dog during a vacation. I was 13 or something I think..so yea not much has changed. XD
I wanted to post this because I love my dog and I'm happy he's still here with me ;__;
I got the test results from the vet today and it seems like he has Cushing's syndrome. Which means he has benign tumors in his brain which causes him to have this immense thirst.. The good thing is that he gets medicine to prevent the symptoms...

Gawsh, honestly, I thought that was a skunk in the thumbnail. I was gonna come in here like Rambo an be all "YOU CRAZEH"
But, now i see it's a dog.
Glad he's getting his medical attention. Don't need the poor boy getting severe water weight.
And yay for having a life-long friend that you can always count on <3

Cushing's disease is rough, I'm sorry! It is essentially the opposite of addison's disease. I worked for a wolf sanctuary a number of years back, we had a wolf-dogs with cushing's. Treatment for it was strange, the drug used was a very small dose of what was developed as a biological weapon intended to shut down the adrenal glands. But she responded it it very well. Best of luck to the both of you!
When she first started her treatment, she had some stomach problems, but those subsided after a while. His body will have to adjust to a different balance of natural steroids. Cushing's is similar to taking high doses of prednisone, hydrocortisone or other cortical steroids for long periods of time.
