Though the story doesn't specify it, technically the outcome is Herm, but there is no nasty parts in this story at all.

During a dry spell of no invasions, Mario wishes for something exciting to happen. This leads to a life changing event for him and his princess.

Note that at the time, we didn't, and STILL Don't, consider them Herms, but the classification is for the sake of argument.
