I have a cat that was once that fat. Although now he's really old(we got him as a kitten along with his brother and two sisters.) and my mom has told me that it is only a matter of time. Shadowbug(my mother's nicename that she gave him.) lost his hearing a few months ago and is nolonger able to jump up onto beds like he use too.

How old is he?

Mine will turn 10 by the end of this year. Still rocking as she did 5 years ago.

We also have a dog that's like 15, and still shows no signs of major degradation. Maybe a small loss of hearing.
