I consider it a great attention to detail. If you take a moment to wrestle with the dangerous concept of how furry anthro anatomy would work, the tail protrudes just above the anus. Now since human etiquette considers the anus and genitals to be the reason why we wear the lower clothing of underwear and pants, it would make sense that the position of a tail in the anatomy, especially large or fluffy ones, would cause our lower clothing to ride lower, if not be pushed off completely. While it does help portray how civilized furries are, it does run into the trouble of furries not necessarily needing clothing because of fur.
