I'm like the Paparazzi. Get it? No?
Well screw it, I tried!
I see this car pretty regularly. The owner probably works at the shopping center.
There's definitely something appealing to me about this car, maybe because it has a resemblance to my old rusted out white Chrysler Newyorker.

LOL thats pretty cool. You don't see cars over 20 years old in the US very often. Even though a lot of the old US cars are built like tanks. Though up until a few years ago I used to see cars from the late 60's/early 70's a lot. Not nearly as common as the 20+ year old cars there though :D https://www.google.com/search?q=philadelphia+traffic&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=zhXwUo-sJqvhsASc5oLQBw&sqi=2&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAw&biw=1536&bih=736#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=IQhmpeKGDgmqIM%253A%3BJVZ9EJmxwOgAHM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Ftechnical.ly%252Fphilly%252Fwp-content%252Fuploads%252Fsites%252F2%252F2009%252F05%252Ftraffic.bmp%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Ftechnical.ly%252Fphilly%252Ftag%252Fstimulus-package%252F%3B500%3B343
You'll see trucks like this every so often, but very rarely. http://timid-wolf.deviantart.com/ar.....Love-324962610 Typically if someone owns one its not driven a lot and either kept as a collectable or used occasionally to tow trailers or heavy things
Most older daily driver vehicles you see here are these types of vans. This is a school bus conversion but I still see a lot of the work van versions of these http://timid-wolf.deviantart.com/ar.....hing-415085905
This is another type of van that's fairly common. http://timid-wolf.deviantart.com/ar.....ions-405404873
You'll see a lot of 20+ year old pickup trucks too because people hold onto them.

Sorry, the first like I attempted to send didnt work. But heres a good idea of what cars here typically look like http://technical.ly/philly/2009/05/.....-improvements/
Awr, cool. But your market is mostly defined by insurance companies, right? The insurance must be much more expensive for an older vehicle than for a brand new, also spare parts are harder to find once you pass the 30 year wall. For Yugo and Zastava 101, favorite cheap cars here, you can get a whole good engine for as little as $100, and any other repair isn't more than that. Many drive without registration (license plate), especially in southern parts, where wages are around $1.5/hour.
Once I save up some, I'll probably buy a 1988-9 Audi 100 or VW Passat for casual driving, these are reliable as hell (no computers, no electronics) and easy to maintain.

Oddly, no. Insurance is far cheaper for older cars because the car is worth a lot less. It doesn't cover ordinary repairs, only damage in an accident. So if your car just breaks down you have to pay for that. And if the cost of accident damage exceeds the value of the car they just total the car. So you get a payout based on the cars value.
Lol cool. A friend of mine had a 1980's VW Rabbit. That was a pretty cool little car. I'm with you too on simple cars. I bought my Taurus instead of a 2003 Volvo wagon mainly because the Volvo was higher mileage, in worse shape and had a lot more electronic extras that would start failing eventually. What I'd really like though is a Chevy Blazer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:C.....zer_2-door.jpg My dad had one of these and they're really good in snow.

LOL yeah, I still miss seeing my uncle's mid 1980's Mercedes(I believe it was an W123, but I'm not totally sure since the names arent very memorable). He drove that thing until the engine blew up at the 400,000 mile mark, along with my aunt's Saturn that had 250,000 miles on it when they scrapped it.
There must be some kind of conspiracy of the auto-makers, since 2000 no car is made to go more than 250.000 miles no matter how good you take care of it!
My dad had a Citroen 2CV, he bought it used (maybe scrapped, not sure by now), fixed it, passed about 400.000 miles with it, then sold it for the same amount of money he spend on buying it. But that was back in 1970s.

I had to call around several dealers to get a pair for a customer that had lost his only key, then he never showed up for them. I guess he found his missing key then.
Our online catalouge has all Falcons back to the XD for just about everything else the cut off is about 1996 and even then a lot of parts apart from consumables have been obsoleted.
