A storm in the sky may be cool to look at, but why not look at me as I save your world with my own?
There are many stories that I can tell you about our lovely city, my friend. But you know, there’s this one story is quite out there, as it involves the very moment our city was almost faced with certain disaster. Now you must be asking, why am I telling you this story? Well, let's just say this is a story about how one person can change the lives of many people by doing something extraordinarily amazing.
The city was known as Tunbelstead, a wonderfully beautiful island-city sitting in the middle of the ocean with gleaming skyscrapers and buildings dotting the landscape. Mount Tunbel dominated the center of the city as if it were a beacon for the people, or perhaps an omen that was in the shape of things to come. The people themselves were clearly happy in the city, with little to no problems other than the mayor taking over all sorts of vehicles from time to time. It was a happy life, and many other places around the world envied that kind of existence. Those people would do anything to get it.
And on one day, in the middle of spring that very thing happened as the island itself shook violently. People who were going about their lives were knocked off their feet, while cars slammed into poles and buildings as the tremors intensified. The people in the city looked towards the ocean and saw a giant creature heading to their city. It was unlike anything they had ever seen as it was a giant lumbering two legged monstrosity that looked like something out of a 50's movie. The only recognizable thing on it that the people on the island could relate to was the insignia of another country that had long desired for the island and was the only recognizable feature of the monster. The people on the island panicked, as they headed for the nearest boats and ferries on the island, only to realize there really wouldn't be any escape as the boats couldn't accommodate everyone.
People began to despair and fall to their knees, wondering if this was truly the end. And then out of nowhere it happened... As everyone was running and panicking, it felt the air around the city had changed from that sweet ocean smell to a sort of an electric sensation before every one of us saw it. Everyone looked to the center of our city to the mountain, quite literally shocked to see a giant blue figure sitting on top of the mountain with its eyes closed. It was breathtaking to look at as it had a small smile on its face, and it seemed so calm and collected as it sat there. Everyone around me looked in awe at the massive blue wolf thing, seeing how strong it was in terms of muscle mass, how its yellow fur emanated that electric feeling in the air. It was clearly male and also quite obviously nude, but all anyone could do was stare at it before their attention turned to the monster that roared in the ocean. What would happen next was anyone’s guess...
The blue wolf began to move as it opened its eyes and gave an even larger smile to the people in the city. People ran from the blue wolf as it rose to its feet only to realize they were being pushed away harmlessly by some sort of force. Now standing, its blue form with its electric yellow fur dominated our city as it looked out to the ocean, its claws digging into the pavement of the roads while standing over multiple buildings. It stretched its large body as if it were warming up for a fight. The monster in the water roared loudly at the blue wolf. And then there was silence...
At that point, the only sounds that could be heard were the water lapping along the city's edge, the faint sound of sparking coming from the massive blue wolf, and the breathing of the two giants. The wolf kept looking forward while he opened the palm of his right hand, as his electricity formed a mighty sword, a katana, floating right beside him. Grasping the blade in his right hand, he remained calm as he looked down, closing his eyes as he finally spoke in a loud booming voice, at least to us.
“Through the thunderous roar that enveloped this city in fear, I have finally come again to protect this city, my home, from the likes of you, a disastrous monster,” he opened his eyes while slowly moving his head up to face the monster again. “My name is Manny Raibolt, the protector of this fine city and its people. So I will only ask you once to leave while you still can.”
The monster roared at him in defiance, readying itself for a fight with the blue wolf now known as Manny.
“I thought it would be that way, heh...” Manny raised his katana quickly, slicing into the air as thunderclouds appeared seemingly out of nowhere behind him. His left hand formed a fist while he got himself into a fighting pose, his balance and stance being something amazing to look at. He turned his left hand and taunted the monster to come at him, a giant smile being on Manny's face as his red eyes pierced his foe. “Shall we begin?”
The monster roared once again as it charged through the water at Manny, heading straight for the main port, the people began to run while Manny stood there watching the monster's every move as if he were figuring out its mannerisms and style of combat. As the monsters approached landfall, Manny made his stance even more tense, waiting for the moment to strike the monster. Much to his surprise, the monster jumped into the air and made a dive towards the area in front of Manny, rolling as it began to try to attack him with it's legs and fists. He quickly sidestepped, dodging the majority of the attacks and blocking some with his own free hand, but then he found an opening.
Manny kicked at the beasts stomach, sending it upwards a bit before he twisted his body around and kicked again, forcing the monster to fly right into the middle of the city's park. As the monster got up, it snarled at Manny who was charging at the beast for his own chance to attack. The monster punched at Manny, but he in turn pushed his katana into the monsters right arm and punching it in the chest. It roared in pain as it tried to break free from the katana's electric blade, only finding the blade was digging even deeper into it's arm as if it was being used as a crutch to control it.
Manny grinned at the beast as he then pulled the katana out of the beasts arm, slicing across the monsters chest and pushing it into a nearby building. “I gave you a chance to run, monster... but you decided to fight anyway.” It was then the monster spewed fire at Manny, who jumped back in surprise and laughed. He casually walked up to the monster as it was kneeling on the ground and kicked it back as it spewed even more fire at him. He lifted up the beast by the back of it's neck and then pushed his katana right through its chest while placing his other hand on the hilt of his blade, pumping electricity into the monster. The monster kicked and roared at Manny as it knew it was losing, but then the monster began to light up in bright red light. Manny seemed perplexed at this as he found it was getting warmer and warmer, melting the building behind it a bit as he then realized what was happening. He didn't have too long to get rid of this beast for if he didn't the city would have been lost. He stabbed the best one more time square in the chest with his blade, and then punched at that very spot as the clouds behind Manny began to strike the monster with lightning as if they were a thousand blades hitting the monster all at once.
The monster only smiled at Manny, knowing full well it had the upper hand until Manny lifted up the beast and threw it into the air, making the clouds again hit the beast with his lightning as he threw his katana at the beast impaling it through it's heart as it came down crashing into the park on it's back. Manny stepped on the beasts chest and pulled it up to face him, “It's over...” He pushed his katana into the beasts head, waiting for a moment as the beast began to darken its red light. He threw the beast into the ocean with a kick and punch as an explosion was heard from underwater and smiled.
“And with that, people of Tunbelstead, your city is saved again to live another day. May you live long and fruitful lives. And when the day comes to protect this city from disaster, I'll be there again.” And with that, he disappeared as quickly as he came, the clouds dissipating and the electric feeling in the air dissipated. The people were stunned at what just happened, and as they took their time to recollect what just happened a single cheer was heard from somewhere in the city before the entire city erupted in a chorus of cheers.
To this day, the blue wolf Manny Raibolt strives to protect those he cares about and loves. Even those he may not know, he will leap right into action to protect them. At least that is what we learned from him, so maybe you could learn to do that yourself my friend.
Well this art is a blast from the past, and one of the most accurate portrayals of my character, Manny E. Raibolt. Seriously, this is one of the closest images to what he truly looks like in my mind.
Pogonip is seriously a talented artist who is absolutely epic in every way, from being a truly awesome person, to being seriously talented in multiple fields of work. The amount of detail he puts into his work and the characters he draws is quite astounding and I've never really seen anyone, with the exception of a few people, draw in this kind of style. The way the clouds look, the color on the body and even how the background itself is slightly faded, you get an honest sense of motion in his work, like the art is truly alive. He's incredibly amazing at what he does so you should go check out his work!
Also on a side note, i REALLY need to get back into my writing game. It's like it's gone down a drain or something. Also it took me about 3 days to write this on and off due to classes. I could have done such a better job on this story but writing only comes to me every once in a while. Also I think my inability of putting it in the perspective of Manny this time was a bad decision on my part. What do you think?

Even in the worst of times, there will always be someone somewhere who will come and protect you, the people, and the things you love no matter what. Some will go to extraordinary lengths to help another person, and some will do something that is also quite extraordinary that could help many. So always, no matter what, be hopeful that there will always be a tomorrow.

Then, after defeating the monster. Manny turned back towards the city, grinning ferally and only uttered, "You're mine."
-20 minutes later-
The city of Tunbelstead had been raised to the ground; its inhabitants squashed or eaten. Nothing remained of this once thriving city.
