Oh fuck, completely forgot to post this one. A bit of redesign of a villain from an old Croatian cartoon. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e.....mrazomor-1.jpg
Now, I believe some of you remember the Elm-Chanted Forest, a Croatian animated movie about a human painter stumbling upon a forest full of talking animals, and fighting against a Cactus Emperor, also featuring some gangly, starved-looking little wizard who ends up helping the heroes after being fed up with how Emperor treated him? (admit it, you watched it solely because of Fifi the Fox!!) Well, what you may not have known is, that movie eventually received a sequel called Wizard's Hat, but due to Croatia winding up in war with Serbia in 90s, it never received an international release like Elm-Chanted Forest did.
So what was the sequel about? First of, Fifi the Fox is not in it. (*a couple of furries leave the room promptly*) AHEM! Same goes for Cactus Emperor, several characters are simply missing for unexplained reasons. And instead of the painter from the first film, the protagonist this time is....Thistle, the little wizard from the above mentioned Elm-Chanted Forest. He spends his days under the old Oak, watching the dance of the fairies as he has fallen in love with their queen, Sunny. However, his days of daydreaming come to an end as the armies of Ice Witches, led by Emperor Frostkill (Car Mrazomor) overrun the forest (except for the old Oak, whose magic protects the remaining animals), kidnap queen Sunny and run off, resuming with their plan to freeze the entire world. Following the advice from his old mentor, King Eburon, Thistle ventures off to find an ancient sword which might help him defeat Emperor Frostkill, while his friends leave the other way to find an old dragon who fought Frostkill before...
Truth be told, the movie is terrible compared to the original-while ECF had a pretty much consistent story with very few musical numbers here and there, Wizard's Hat pretty much suffers from a case of "Disney sequel syndrome". A weak story with a metric crapton of musical numbers constantly interrupting it. As shitty as the movie is, I really liked Frostkill-his design was badass, his voice was fucking awesome, it's a pity he went down like a chump. For those who might wanna watch the movie with subtitles in English, have fun:
