'Rhinoceros' was a surreal play about a town where the people inexplicably start turning into rhinos. The play originally starred Zero Mostel, and this is my attempt to illustrate his transformation scene. On stage, he did it all by himself, without makeup or special effects.

Zero was in the play when it ran on Broadway. As a kid I read a review that said he turned into a rhinoceros onstage; I took the review literally and wondered how they did it - was he wearing an inflatable body suit or something? I would've given anything to see the play but had I, I'm sure I would've been sorely disappointed when he "transformed" into a rhinoceros via the magic of acting.
