FEATURING:
TippieTot's - Apollo Conure
Drawing is a lot harder than it used to be for me. So, to be presenting some new art today really makes me feel super stoked!
Work has been epic slow and, well, I got fed up and, with the help of a light above my desk itself, I was able to get enough vision to see what I was doing. Yay!
I tried for that cheeky smile that Spike seems to get when he is waiting for something positive to come out of what he is doing. You may often notice this particular grin when he's around Rarity, or hoping for something.
Apollo is just, well, adorable!
Here we have Spike playing Fetch and Catch with Apollo.
Fans of my work back in mid 2012 may also take notice of how I brought the infamous "Star Ball" back. I do so love continuity and bringing up themes.

Oh, Ozzie. *Crinklehuggles* I'm so happy you think well of this work. Art is not easy for me these days, but I don't want to stop doing it until, well, until there's nothing to draw anymore. *giggles*
I do hope you, Tavi, and crew are doing well down there. I heard over the news that GA got smashed by a wintery blarf. :(
As a plus, if the weather is cold, I bet it is good for you in being all comfy and cozy. :)
Be well and stay crinkly.

*crinklehuggles* Awww, well I hope you keep it up for a long time. ^^
We are doin okay. It hit in Alabama and Georgia. We got a lot of snow and the roads were icy, so travel was dangerous for a day or two, but now most of the stuff on the roads has melted and people can get around again. It was very pretty and fun to walk around in though. ^^ We had some hot cocoa to keep us warm.

<LoL!> The Star Ball was part of the super nice drawing you were beyond kind enough to do for me. Did you know that was the very first ever picture of Yosh with Spike?
Apollo's diaper design is as close as I could do from the initial design
TippieTot did for the cutie birdie. I love diapers with designs. Especially cute designs that are all over.
With Spike's diaper, I wanted to kind of make his trademark apron in diaper form. :) Poor Spike. Can't keep himself away from all that "girly-gunk". <LoL!>
Thank you so much for taking the time to view and comment, Pawsie. It's always a pleasure to hear from you and, one of these days, I will genuinely take some quality time to read through a lot of the journals I've missed.
Is it okay to ask here how you think you did on your SATs? Have you applied to any colleges yet? I bet all your efforts will warrant you some cool grants to help you out. :)

How awesome! I'm glad to hear you not only pursuing your passion for the arts, but being so proactive about it. Way to be!
You can drive now, right? Does this mean you have a shiny, awesome "Parking Permit" at your school? I'll never forget how awesome I felt riding in with my friend in his one-of-a-kind car. Ah, so many misadventures.
Do you think you'll do anything with the band once you reach college? Have you thought of applying out-of-state to a school such as the "Savannah School" down in Georgia?
Always wishing you the best, Pawsie. I know I'm awful with posts and even more awful with journals, but I do my best to keep up and honestly do look forward to seeing you grow into a force of awesomeness in whatever field suits your heart most. :)

Sounds like you have done a lot of quality research into where to go and how it will impact your overall, collegiate career. Go you!
Would you be trying to go from Bachelors to Masters? Or would you hope to get a Bachelors, do some field work, and then go for your Masters?
The reason I even bring up the "Masters" is that I know some folks in the art field who go for it in order to solidify the skills they are looking to market themselves upon. That, or they get "MBAs" so they are able to not only do art, but be savvy in a business setting where the art would be used for various things like product and packaging design. :)
That's cool your dad is able to give you and your sister's a ride to school. Anything to keep off the bus, right?
Which college is closest to you? If the "2 Year College" is closest, I'd choose that. Give you a chance to acclimate to all the newness going to college brings about. Plus, you'd be closer to home in case you needed some extra help in adapting to all the new responsibilities college brings. Also, if it is in a fair, driving distance, you can save a fortune by not living on campus.
Living on campus is great, but it does no favors in Student Loan debt. *Sigh*

It can be a lot of fun to have a "Theme" in your work. If something sticks out that makes you happy, go for it and see if anyone notices the reoccurring surprise. :)
I agree, too. Each work you complete, no matter what it is for, is like adding Experience Points. And, like in Final Fantasy, you can't take on bigger challenges without first taking on little ones to prepare you for those epic, boss fights. :)

Thanks, Skye. It made me very happy to draw this particular piece. I wanted to do something special for
TippieTot, but also wanted to do something with lovable Spike. So, thanks to work being super-duper-boring on that day, I went for it!
A funny story is that, for Spike, I didn't have the blue ink pen to make the "faux Purprle" color you see on him. So, I searched our department's, supply closet to no avail. I then went to the little store that is in our work place and asked if they sold blue, ink pens. They said "No", but the lady behind the counter gave me one. Totally unaware that it was to color Spike and will have no work application at all. :)
I do love making the most of downtime.

Oh, Tippie. *Huggies* You are a good friend and it makes me happy that you got a chance to see this drawing. It was one of the last one's I've done as my cornea has begun to cloud over more. Though I do hope to try and work through this complication through some additional adaptive technology so I can draw more Spike, Apollo, and other wonderful friends. :)
I love your conure and hope Apollo and Rufus are both still bringing happiness your way.

I love your cast of characters. Apollo, Ming, and Paisley in particular. They are adorable and always make me think of happy times. :)
They said I'd be totally blind by 18 and I've so far beaten that by 16 years. So I'm fortunate to have said sight for as long as I have. I'm not going to give up on it yet though. You know that saying about how it ain't over until the fat lady sings? Well she hasn't sung yet and I'm going to put my faith in God and my Specialists to guide me where and when I'm to go visually. There are lots of things I can do without sight and I'm preparing myself so I can be at peace. :)
