One of the funniest scenes in all of MLP for me was when discorded Rarity went all ballistic and did this crazy Kung Fu like kick on Applejack when she thought AJ was coveting her "diamond" she named "Tom".
Anyway that is what inspired me just drawing this for the heck of it.
Combining shading with show style (or near show style) is an interesting experiment. When I do detailed shading on MLP ponies in the future, I will have to alter the manes and tails a little to a more natural look as it would work better with shades, or at least get ride of the hard lines you see in them in the flat colors of the show.
Anyway, came out alright and was a fun experiment. So Enjoy!

Rarity charged and kicked the manticore in the face in the first episode (admittedly to no real effect); she fought Applejack when they were both discorded; and there have been a few other occasions where she's shown herself willing to fight if need be, such as when she was willing to defend Spike from the older dragons.
