Little Aeonis always had a vivid imagination. In fact, the day his mother gave him his first notebook, he spent the afternoon glued to its pages -- never stopping until, by bedtime, he had filled his journal to the brim with primitive stories. Like every child, his scribblings were hardly legible in his awkward handwriting. But when his mother saw them, she was overjoyed with the kind of pride and praise parents are known for.

With her encouragement staining his cheeks a soft pink, it wasn't the last time he would write either. There were entire universes, raw and unharnessed, just waiting to be explored. He had the power to make worlds from nothing, shaped only by his vision. As he lay there in the living room one day, his mind drifted, and he wondered to himself, lost in his lucid daydreams, where this path would take him.

It's hard to say why this is so special and personal to me, but I've been looking to it for motivation a lot recently. Now that I'm back to being a serious writer, I guess I needed something to commemorate the occasion. It couldn't have turned out more perfectly.
