Finally rigging this :D :D
Automated rig setup, just gotta paint weights, but I'll need to add stuff and things, because the scripter doesn't think horses have toes, I don't know what is with that. Also dynamics and other things.
Anyway, I need to bake new maps because I changed my UVs, I do that all the time because I can.
I'm just happy to see this guy with his mouth closed. I am surprised how regal this looks, I didn't design this creature with elegance in mind.

Look up ngSkinTools.
Best thing evr for maya skinning. Supports layers, relax, non T-pose mirroring (bone-based) and weight painting that makes sense.
I work primarily in 3ds max in a studio, skinning there is rather easy out-the-box. Was learning maya last year, and the default skinning tools for it are horrid at best. 2 days trying to skin-paint all to no results. ngSkinTools is a damn saviour. Managed to learn it within 4 hours and done a skin for an entire character within 6.
It's also cross-maya compatible (not a plugin). Everything is stored as default maya skin, so everyone else can use it.
Damn, I almost sound like an ad agent.. BUT I'M NOT.

Yep! http://kriscrash.dk/2012/
I applied in print, but that isn't a thing anymore. Never hurts to layout it anyway. Just ask if you want some feedback or my angle on things.
