Comission off Gaia Online for Lyrim. This is actually the third piece I've done for him, but this is my favourite so I'm putting this up and considering of the other two, but I'm not so happy about them..
"Another comission from the lovely Lyrim! <3 I love doing work for him.
This was the first Gaia comission I started working on, and just now finished it. It's the most elaborate and longest compter coloured picture I've done. I'm in love with it though, and so happy with it.
My favourite part of the entire thing is acutally the arm rest on the left and how it blends in with the couch. I did all that and thought it looked gorgeous and tried to make the rest of the couch look the same. Didn't really work, but it's good enough. I then made it an oriental chair; red velvety cover (which is why there's a "glare" in the shading/highlights) and tossed in the phoenix in the arm rest. I tried to make it look like a wood carving, did that work?
10 layers, all starting from a photographed inked/sketched drawing, took a looong time.
