it's a good start. you did a wonderful job making the eye feel spherical and have mass. however the area around the eye is rather flat. the tone of the skin is close to that of a human and threw me off .try adding some details such as scales and what not around the eye. try using small round brush for details. Defining the lips of the eyelids will help make the eye pop out more.
