“Agent Samson and I dove out the window just seconds before the explosion ripped the building apart. Fortunately the lake we landed in wasn’t too cold, but it was still quite the swim in our fancy clothes. I was quite annoyed that we’d just lost the lead we’d been pursuing, and yet Samson looked more upset that my dress wasn’t white that evening.”
“From the way you described the cut of that dress I’m not sure that he really would have needed a dip in the lake to have a nice view.”
Miranda laughed as she reached for another handful of popcorn, “Hey now, I’ll have you know that dress was actually very comfortable. Even my dancing coach said it all looked very natural during the ballroom scene.”
“I’m sure it felt natural,” Jason said as he grinned. “Any further natural and you would have been dancing in your birthday suit.”
With that Miranda lightly smacked him upside the head, “Hey now, be nice.” Laying her head on his chest she sighed, “It really was a fun movie. Honestly though behind the scenes I found the nice young man playing the villain in the movie to be far more of a gentleman than the egotistical nimrod they had playing Samson.”
“It’s funny how things occasionally work out like that.” Grabbing a piece of popcorn, Jason flicked it back up at Miranda, “Now weren’t you supposed to be describing the scenes to me?”
Giggling as she swatted away the popcorn, Miranda nodded, “Yes, but I’m not in this scene so you wouldn’t care anyway. Don’t you dare flick any more popcorn at me or I won’t describe my outfit to you on the beach scene.”
Seconds away from flicking another piece at her, Jason instead positioned it on his thumb and flicked it into his mouth. “Noted.”
Their nice little movie date at Jason’s apartment continued. Jason has originally suggested the idea to her, and Miranda was appreciative of him wanting to spend more time with her. She found his quirky sense of humor endearing and, despite being the target of the occasional prank, knew he had nothing but good intentions.
As the credits began to roll Jason reached for the remote, “So what next? Could go with The Vixen in Red or Die Another Year or Two…”
Miranda interrupted him by reaching over and hitting the power button on the remote. “I think one was enough. Besides, I’m done talking for now,” she said in a low voice as she shifted position from the couch to on top of his legs.
“Hard to believe you were only nominated for that Emmy.”
Pulling him towards her, a gesture he returned by wrapping his arms around her as well, Miranda giggled as their noses touched, “Silly Windbag, you don’t need to say anything else either.”Artwork by
