She doesn't walk "by foot" like a dog, but she's confident enough with her human relatives to take the chance this way of exploring interesting foreign territory, like in the park. In general, she's very shy and one has to carry her home on a shoulder, for she doesn't like to take the pavement. One can train them to keep on the lead as long as they grow up, though that doesn't fit their true nature. Cats are no escort, they are co-residents.
