Just a small view of this cabinet thing with drawer that's beside my desk.
That antler is so freaking big. The buck you see is a typical SC deer, and the antler is a typical MI deer.
Holy cow the difference.
On the wall is Star my sunglow (one of a large line of pelts), a bison tail, and on the shelf that's an axis deer pelt.

You'll find a lot of deer like that come from Ranches, yet a lot of the deer in the lower part are 'corn fed' and not like the deer here in the U.P. That's why a lot of the people come up here to hunt. . . the deer taste completely different. The ones downstate taste a lot like typical beef.
Now and then you see like a nice 8 or something, but to have such tall tines and a wide spread is a little bit rarer. I got an 8 point this year, hes decently wide, but the tines are shorter.
This year too for northern lower they passed a law where bucks can only be taken with at least 3 tines on a side. . . . the U.P. is too stupid to do that. . . .and a lot of people don't believe in the "let it go and let it grow", they'll see a button buck or small spike and they blast it. So deer don't really get a chance to mature around here. Plus when people travel up from downstate on top of the people that hunt up here, it really knocks down our population on the eastern end of the U.P.

Yeah me too, even though we hunt for the food cause things are real tight for my family we still practice the let it go and grow unless we're REALLY desperate.
If it was a shed it was probably from a Ranch, especially if they didn't have the set, a lot of ranches collect sheds and sell them. I eventually wanna raise deer, but not for hunting purposes. . .just for the antlers sheds. There is a ranch up here in a small town called Curtis. . . .they charge A THOUSAND DOLLARS per tine on their hunts. . .they're nuts.
