I figured it would be in a completely different language; that is to say the script wasn't written by any beings who knew English. That's what I was joking around with.
Did you soaked the whole page or just the edges? I figure this was done after the painting. I gotta say, it looks really cool. I recommend showing this on the world building page on Reddit. :)

Not sure if you've heard of that term before. If not, here's the wiki article on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worldbuilding
To put it simply, it's what you've been doing. I know the term is a bit misleading (since it leads one to believe it only focuses on worlds and not solar systems, nebulas, galaxies, etc) but it is what you're essentially doing. :)
Another example is what I'm trying to do with Adya and Avy. Avalonia's homeworld is mainly like Earth except it's mostly desert-based. Her hometown is something akin to the abandoned adobe villages seen from South-Western USA and the villages seen in Northern Africa. While her civilization is quite advance to the point of space travel, her hometown is still behind in terms of transportation and communication.
and here's the worldbuilding subreddit I was talking about: http://en-us.reddit.com/r/worldbuilding

While Tolkein's Arda and the Star Wars universe is a good example of worldbuilding, I find that the 1987 anime film (Gainax's first, expensive, and most ambitious film) The Wings of Honneamise to be a great example. While it takes place on a planet like ours and has familiar things like humans, cats, forks, currency, cars, trains, and etc, they're all designed in a way that seems other-worldly.
