I was with a group of friends when we saw you and one of them said "look at that cute bat" loud enough that you heard and you went and sat on a chair and acted tired and embarrassed and even that was super cute. Everone in my group was very amused and i wish I had gotten a picture.
I really wouldn't suggest doing what I did with the wings, they don't work very well. They weigh a lot, especially since I'm only using my last two fingers it's not very comfortable at all, and they've broken multiple times, twice in the left wing and once in the right one and had to be splinted with some heavy duty copper wire, which made it weigh even more. I used a thin, hollow steel pipe that I curved slightly. It broke because it bends much too easily, and once it breaks one way and you try and bend it back, the line shatters.
I'm considering making new wings/bodysuit for him and getting some custom pieces of PVC pipe instead, and have them curve it slightly for me, since plastic doesn't break easily.
However, after splinting his wings, they went through a lot of dancing and hugging at the con and seem to be fine, so I may not even need to remake them, unless I have a lot of time on my hands someday and I feel like doing so.
My toony eyes are just glossy photo paper (the heavy kind photography type) that are set into the mask and glued around the perimeter. I cut out the pupil with an X-acto knife and place buckram on the back, painted black. The paper doesn't tear (easily, at least) and the glossy gives the appearance of a wet eye, and also tends to be okay with a LITTLE water, as long as you're careful. Since it's paper, I use my computer to design eyes (Photoshop or Illustrator) and print them onto the paper, and then cut them out, make the follow-me, and install them.

I loved this suit so much. By far the best bat I saw at the con.
I am very impressed with how well the whole thing came out. I have been thinking of making a suit myself...
Great job! Adorable and fun!
I was the guy with black contacts and large, brown foam bat ears at the Con, BTW :)

It was! Guapo is one of my personal characters and I have no intentions of selling him, he's mah bat! (Actually I have two bat characters but I haven't made the second one yet!)
And thank you so much! I'm really so flattered at how much Guapo's fandom has grown since I made him. I wasn't expecting him to be so popular, and feels really nice that I can make so many people happy at cons by giving them warm bat hugs!
