An early attempt at cheesecake, with almost nothing showing. The seduction is mostly mental -- the appeal of dark chocolate, and fine Japanese plum wine.

What, you mean the composition? I use a straight edge for straight lines, but other than that it's just pencil, pen, and eraser. I seem to have always had an instinct for composing a picture, so I can't really explain how or why. It just seems obvious to me how to construct a piece. And just as obvious when I occasionally slip up.
It always seemed to amaze Steve Martin that I only needed a pencil case with about a dozen things in it (add a couple of markers, a small pair of scissors and a few other items to pen, pencil, and eraser), and drew on a lap board. Steve needs about 500 markers, 100 different blue and red pencils, several dozen straight edges and circular templates, and a drating board the size of Rhode Island to do anything, and when he travels he goes with a steamer trunk full of drawing junk. I've tried to get him to lighten the, but he seems to feel unarmed without every last exacto knife blade and chisel tipped colour marker.

There was, there is. But the reason I have this file is that I was scanning old fanzines that I did covers for. After saving the cover, I found it fairly easy in most cases to drop the colour (of the paper) out and paint over the title, givng me a purely "art" file. That's how this was created. Someday I"d prefer to scan the orignal, which should be less blurry. When I do that, I'll be in the same zip binder with the colour version and can scan that too. Someday...
