Image 2 of 2.
Showing the opposite side, lots of naked space on this side, i never know what to do with the side that doesn't have all the bells and whistles on it. If i had any good skill i'd try and put design and crap on it but thats a bit too big a mouthful to even attempt.
I may do a few adjustments to the front end of the slide, as much as I love the end looking like that i may tinker with it so that the front sight can move a bit further forward.
20rnd mag and chambered for 9mm, didn't exactly chambered for any specific variant of 9mm just have it plain jane old 9mm.
Modeled in Google sketchup 7.

I tried figured how to put a slide lock on it like the 1911 has but couldn't seem to get it to fit in. Also it has a safety, granted said safety is on the right side and its a slide safety and probably does't exactly work in 'real life' but it serves its purpose as far as I care.
I'm bound to tinker with the model so i imagine i'll eventually figure some stuff out.

I usually model guns based off how i use them, since i have to shoot off my right side because my right eye is my dominant eye i generally put safeties and stuff on the right side and mag releases on the left so the thumb can press it easily. Though flipping the model on the red axis in sketchup essentially turns a right handed weapon into a left handed weapon.
Also i suck at making safeties, never been able to make a functional one in sketchup so i just go off what i can make passable.

Haven't looked much at glocks, strangely i've never been much of a fan of them.
As for the slide release, I suppose i could try something along the lines of a M9's slide release, though part of me likes the 1911's slide even if its a slow and cumbersome release mechanism. My friend has made it a point to try and convert me to being an M9 fan with its 'amazingly' quick disassemly and reassembly. Takes him all of 20 seconds to disassemble and reassemble his m9, takes me about a minute to do the same with my 1911.
Also plundered your gallery for a while, don't think i've seen a bigger collection of sharks anywhere else on FA. ^^

I'm personally a fan of the CZ line of pistols and their takedown is rather quick. Glock dissaseembly is very easy too, and would take all of about 20 seconds.
Also, thanks! I hope you enjoyed it!
In all honesty though, a slide release lever is for two things (1) ease of use and more importantly (2) if your non-shooting hand gets injured, so you can release the slide with just one.

Alright.
It was a nice horde of sharks. Seems like FA has started having a growth in the shark population with normal sharks and hybrids. Guess they're getting more popular.
Alrighty, I have always liked how a 1911's slide locks in place when it ejects the last casing, dunno why.
