Another sketch from my friday night DnDerps.

Early on in the campaign our caravan had been attacked by bandits. Our bard managed to put one of them to sleep... who we then kept alive and captured for information. Anyway turns out that since the former bandit Tarvick had failed the job, he had no boss to go back to as that would likely get him killed(he's a mean old man, that boss) so we let him stay with the caravan until we could drop him off at the nearest town. Originally it was to have him arrested there, but when he actually helped us out in a couple scrapes along the way, we ended up hiring him and giving him a job tending the wagons. He's adventured with us ever since! We've all grown terribly fond of him and out of game refer to him as our 'pet npc'. Lilly in particular has grown rather close to him over time, and this has her terribly conflicted since she already has feelings for the party ranger, Shalelu.

Why the long drawn out explanation? Well... Tarvick got captured by some really bad people. The quest to get him back took something like a month in a half to two months of real world game sessions before we finally rescued him. When we did we found out that while he had been captured, he had been forced to watch as the parties pixie(also captured) had been eaten alive by the demon holding the keys to his cell. She then proceeded to cut off and eat Tarvick's hand.

So this scene takes place right after the rescue, back in town. Lilly had given him the key to her room so he could go and get cleaned up before dinner... only he never came back down. When Lilly went up to check on him, she found that after his bath he had a fit of frustration and then fell asleep on the bed, holding his bandaged stump. Lilly descided to not wake him up and just comfort him in the only way she could think of. Hopefully she brought some peace to his dreams at least.

As an update as of last session, Tarvick got his hand back via a regeneration spell! And he asked lilly out to dinner! But Lilly already had a date planned with Shalelu that evening! What will happen next!? I'll find out next friday!
