Just wanted to make a little comparison between my pugs.
Left is a pup with changing teeth (gender unknown), right is a very old female. I'm still amased the female has only one tooth left. The rest of them fell out during her life, the bone grew back and filled most holes.

Sadly we'll never fully know how they all looked like. It's so cool that they now know that a lot of them had feathers and when they find fossils of it they can sometimes (don't ask me how) define the colours of the feathers. Who knows what they can do in the future :D

And it might be something within the stem of the feather, like the marrow or something, that has some preserved DNA that they can extract and read, and certain genes or whatnot show what colours they had? Only way that seems logical to me
