Ok, its an Anvil. I'm too poor to afford a nicely made anvil bought from a store, so I am having to build my own. Lucky for me I have access to an awesome fabrication department. Whilst the shape is there, a lot of work is still to be done.
The bick needs grinding and the bed will be replaced with a forklift tine for a flat surface with crisp edges.

I ended up giving up on making this anvil....mainly because the piece of track that I had cut and ground 'mysteriously' vanished after a group of other students made use of the workshop. I still have the tine, and plan to fix it to a wood block to use as a knife making anvil. Next on my lift of 'shit I need' is a small gas furnace, a small coke forge and a small hydraulic press.
