More of a more recent practice thing than anything and rather spontaneous fanart. I love the Metroid franchise (seriously up there at the top for me). I remember when I first played Prime (was also my first Metroid game), these things and the adults used to be a nightmare for me to deal with.

My first thought when I first played this game: Well what the hell? *jumps around like an idiot trying to dodge them*
I haaaaaated those things. And then there was the mother sheegoth later in that level....I about flipped my pies at that battle. Now, though, I grease 'em easily. X3
