GoldenEmotions asked me to draw her pretty Russian blue cat character, Arrowcat. Now, I'm not 100% comfortable drawing felines, but I'm slowly getting better at them. And goldendruid was nice enough to help me out with Arrowcat's expression (thanks again!).

I usually use flat-colored backgrounds on icons, but I decided to try out something different on this icon. I've been looking at darkicewolf's icons ( http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/darkicewolf/ ) and I really like how he implies realistic backgrounds with a few simple brush strokes. I thought I'd try out a similar technique here. I still haven't perfected the technique, but it was certainly easier and faster than I thought it was going to be. I might use it again on future icons.

Speaking of which, I need to stop making icons with open mouths. :| Whyyyyy do I keep doing that? Gaaah.
