I made this vest almost a year ago, in the course of one night starting late and ending in the wee hours of morning. The pattern I had was from the thirties, and I didn't think to check the fit had I even had the time to, so it's a bit short of me.
When I photographed it, I decided to not iron or steam it, just let the wrinkles and bulges of a year of wearing it show. They're just as much a part of it as the one mismatched button (I have since found, in a previously undiscovered box of Great Grandmother's sewing notions, more pf those buttons, and am on the fence about whether to replace the one floral button).
The buffalo came with the shirt I bought for this vest, and was a big motivation behind me acquiring it, as buffaloes were very important to my grandfather. And the back fabric was some hand dyed stuff I bought at a weird little fabric shop run by this nice aging lady and her mother.
