I am working on a calendar for a year long contest. I will be submitting a picture each month based on a different cryptozoological beast of North America. I've been wanting to give back to my loyal friends and watchers, and I figured, what better way than to offer you a free calendar. You may download this image for free, for personal use only. Please do not abuse this privilege. When all is said and done, at the end of this year, I hope to make a printed version with dates available in time for 2015. (If this works out well and you guys like it, I may do a world-wide version next year in time for 2016. I know that is a long way off!)
This month's monster is the Wendigo. I thought he would be perfect for January since he is often associated with the cold.
"Known to different North American tribal groups by the names Wihtikow, Witigo, Witiko, Windigo, Weendigo, Windago, Windiga, Witiko and Wee-Tee-Go, this animal is almost universally described as being a lanky, 15-foot tall, beast-like phantasm, complete with glowing eyes, long, yellowed canine teeth and a hyper-extended tongue. This quasi-animal is almost always depicted with a coat of matted fur, but there are some eyewitness accounts which insist that the creature is hairless and covered with a sallow, jaundiced skin and stag-like horns. Based upon these descriptions it is not surprising that this being has inspired terror in all who have encountered it."- description copied from http://www.americanmonsters.com/sit.....endigo-canada/
