It's the hotels that are costly. For the Chicago G-FESTs/Godzilla convention,the Crowne Plaza O'Hare charges for parking-we do get a decent reduced parking rate of ten bucks per day,the rooms are about $99.00 per night and I really hate to think about the cost of gas now,since I live in northeast Indiana and it's a 120 plus mile drive to Chicago and another 120 mile drive back home.
Eamon may have gotten lucky with a local nearby convention,but sadly where I live,I ain't got jack shit except rednecks,Amish and a few liquor shops and those pesky meth labs that the cops keep finding and shutting down.
