Daggerocha and I just got new Cintiqs as an extension of Christmas. I gave mine a test run and this is what came out. I'm definitely feeling empowered, and eager to face this new year...

Lots of big plans, in fact. Daggz and I are getting married, we're planning to release a playable demo for Beast's Fury in the next few months, we're planning to start our own studio company, and we'll be opening commissions again (and catching up on previous ones).
Also, I'm planning to start working on my own animated series!

Hey artistic! I'm using the 22HD. I'm not as familiar with the 12WX, although Daggz got the new 13 inch model, which I'm guessing is a similar size. Before this, I was using a 10 inch Yiynova, which was cheap and surprisingly good for what I needed to do. But we decided it was time to take the next step
I was using the Yiynova dp10hd, which was cheap and surprisingly sufficient as far as drawing-on-screen tablets go, although the plastic was flimsy and starting to break, and the drivers are like, 3rd party of a 3rd party. Also it doesn't have the good control necessary for slow and careful raster illustration, and it's really small, so I decided it was time to graduate to Wacom.
Thanks! It took some finaggling with various driver software, but I did get it to work with Toon Boom. I should probably post what I did to the forums so other Yiynova users can get functionality, although I've spoken with the Toon Boom executives about it and they said they're working on programming their software with Yiynova compatibility going forward.
Previously I was using a cheap Yiynova dp10hd, a small draw-on-screen tablet that I believe is manufactured in China. It did a pretty good job for a very affordable price, but now that we want to start our own studio company we decided it's time to get some better equipment.
Aside from the superior size and color resolution, I'd say the most noticeable improvement the Cintiq has over the Yiynova is the stylus control. The dp10 had a quirk where if you moved your pen slowly, the line would squiggle and make it impossible to draw a smooth line. This wasn't a problem for me when I was animating, because I would either be scribbling roughs (in which case a perfect line isn't necessary), or using Toon Boom, which has vector smoothing that would automatically smooth the line anyway.
I will say that the Cintiq seems to have slightly more lag than the Yiynova, but it's not as bad as I was afraid it would be. I don't think it will be a problem when I'm animating but I have yet to really test that out.
