As the crowd outside began their cheers for the Wonderbolts, Captain Spitfire had made her way down the Cloudsdale Arena with her head held high anticipating the first show of the new season. 4 months for her was waiting FAR too long for her. She counted off the usual new recruits who were as egar to put on their first show for everypony, friends and family alike along with the seasoned veterans of the show. She was about to conclude her mental role call, until she noticed her right wing pony had not arrived yet. Soarin.
"Where is he?" she said to herself looking around. She knew that her fly partner was sometimes late, but its not like him to miss out on such a great moment. Rolling her eyes she wondered off to his dressing room and knocked on the door.
"Hey Soarin! What are you waiting for? We have a show in like what, five minutes and you need to be out there by now!" Nothing was heard other than some odd sounds of huffing and panting. Spitfire's eyes slightly bulged as her face flushed thinking of something that she never thought Soarin would do.
"Um... Soarin?" she said again knocking on the door almost reluctantly. This time a desparate and frantic reply came back,
"Oh er, Spitfire! Yeah um.. I'm er... I'm not feeling well right now so I won't fly!" This wasn't like him. Spitfire snapped out of the seemingly tasteless thoughts and forced the door open.
"Soarin, for crying out loud what are you-" her sentence came out into silence. Soarin looked behind as his suit was all wrapped up aside from his zipper. This was normally something that would never be difficult, even for a pegasus to accomplish. But this would present a challenge for one thing. His noticible bulge where his belly was. Soarin couldn't help himself anymore as he stood on his hind legs releasing his hoof from the zipper as his belly pushed the fly down and his stomach bounced out like a water balloon. Spitfire saw it all from the reflection of the mirror.
"Um..." he managed as he turned around his face now red, "Hi Spitfire. You had a good 4 months off then?" he chuckled. Spitfire looked at her normally athletic friend. How he would normally keep himself in the ideal shape, now he looked like he traded his figure for sumo wrestling. She looked down before covering her mouth with her hoof. Soarin's fake smile soon faded as his ears drooped and he looked away in shame.
"Ugh... I'm sorry" he sighed. "I guess those trips to Ponyville and Sweet Apple Acres weren't a good idea for my fitness training" he said pushing his hooves in his soft belly, "but those apple pies... those sweet, sweet apple pies were too tempting..." he said as he drifted off into a world of bliss thinking he saw flying pies all around him his lips licking at the though of his tongue being blessed with the sugary, sweety goodness. He didn't even notice for a while that Spitfire was giggling. He snapped out of it when he finally looked back and noticed his pal chucking at this. She walked over and pushed his belly in with her hoof too.
"Guess that Rainbow Dash's pal really knew how to treat you good with the food they got going there, huh?" Soarin blushed and smiled,
"That's kind of an understatement" he chuckled. The two were soon reminded that there was only a few minutes to begin the opening show. Soarin now paniced.
"On jeez, this isn't what I need! Quick, help me zip this thing up!" he said shooting back onto his hind legs and grabbing the zipper. He hopped in place causing his frame to shake like a water bottle, his suit now at least three sizes too small for him still not coming any closer to fastening up.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, fasten up already! I've gotta show to get out- to?" his speech was cut off as Spitfire now pressed against his back pushing her hooves into his body.
"Soarin, buddy? Sit this one out" Spitfire chuckled. "You'll never suit up in time. Besides, you've got to get your form back before you can fly again" Soarin was ashamed of himself, but a reassuring pat on his back told him that his friend that there was nothing to be done now.
"Chin up. You can have a little longer off to spend some time with Rainbow Dash"
"Really?!" he said turning with glee.
"Yeah, as long as you agree to let her be your trainer and keep her away from the pies for a while" she said playfully slapping his gut. Soarin just rested with an awkward smile. He would like to get to know Rainbow Dash some more and the extra time off would probably help build a relationship. He knew that it'd be hard for him to say no to gifts that Rainbow has given him over the last four months out of season with any apple related treats. Then again, it began to click in his mind that perhaps the food, the feeding and Rainbow using his growing belly as a pillow seemed to have a connection. But, that couldn't be true, Rainbow wouldn't want to have one of her idols made that way just to be her pie filled pillow pony now, would she?

Spitfire: "Here, let me help you undo the zipper."
Soarin feels embarrassed but allows it.
Soarin: "Um...okay."
Spitfire pulls Soarin's zipper down and his belly bounced out.
Spitfire: "All better now?"
Spitfire pushes her hooves into his belly.
Soarin: "Oh, that's better. Um, thanks."
