Hey wolfy...
Share some food, will ya?
Enjoying a meatsicle, their favorite popsicle. No, actually, ice cream bars are their favorite, but beefsicles are a close second. And more filling.
And yeah, I was that close to him. He did share his food with me :)

Once when we brought them cow femurs, I was laying down in his pen. He picked it up, and brought it over to me, and laid RIGHT next to me. I mean... Right next to me. He began to gnaw it, literally, an inch from my face. I watched as his back teeth, which are actually very, very sharp, sheared thin strips of bone off.
It was a scarycool moment XD

At first I was like... "Pls don't hurt me wolfy I lurv u" Because I hadn't known him that long, but later I was like, awwww, he was sharing it with me :3
Cos before, I went into a wolf's pen with delicious treats, and they literally... Ripped them right out of my hands. It was scary. They didn't hurt me, but they were... highly motivated to change possession of the treats, from my hands, to their mouths.
The owner came up behind me and said, "Scary, huh."
I whimpered.
Another time I had one of those all natural jerky log things, which the wolves loved, in a pocket. I went in to pet this other wolf, when he went around behind me, and took it right out of my pocket.
It was expensive, so I went to where he had retreated, as he ate it, and reached down to recover it. He snarled at me, and instantly I knew it would be best if I just let him eat the whole thing, which he proceeded to do, as I looked on, helpless, and a little humbled XD
Wolves can be very possessive of their foodstuffs!

Yes, it's true O.O The scary thing is when they bury their uneaten meat in the ground, and it ferments for a few weeks. They smell, it, in the ground, and become protective of it. You literally have no idea you are stepping on their meat cache, buried in the ground, so when you start feeling uneasy as they begin snorting, and pacing around you, well. O.O I had that happen once in a pack of three male wolves. Of course, the angel wolf was there, arguing with them- at the time I had no idea what was going on, but now that I look back on it, he was protecting me :)
Honestly though, they would not have hurt me unless I assumed an aggressive stance, or something dumb like that. It's kind of complicated, because one must know their body language, and know your own instincts. I escaped so many hairy situations that way.

He was a lover of people, and didn't have an aggressive bone in his body, unless he thought someone was in danger. When I was raking a pen, and his other two packmates were circling me and the rake, angry at the sound it made, he is the one who took a man gently by the arm, with his big wolf muzzle, and led him to the gate.
Then after fighting with his packmates, he repeatedly went up to me and made a "WOOOO!" noise, while looking right in my eyes, like saying. "Dude. It's time to get out. They're riled up and you're not helping."
Finally, he sat RIGHT in front of me, after arguing with them (They were snarling and mock fighting, which is kinda scary in and of itself) he forbid me to rake any further, and I finally walked out of the pen, as he watched my back, following me, watching his packmates.
He was pretty much loved by everyone who ever met him :)

I should also tell you that in his lupine frustration, he also stamped his front feet on the ground in front of me. Actually, it was so cute, his facial expression, the sound, and the stomping that he had to do it several times before I realized I should probably leave XD And not say, "Awww look at the cute little wolfy!" XD
XDXD THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED
Wolf: "Dave your life is in danger!"
Me: "Awwwww Look at the cute wolfy dance and try to talk to me! Awwww! How cute!"
Wolf: "Dave! your LIFE is in DANGER!"
Me: "Dance some more, wolfy! You are soooo cute!"
Wolf: "DAVE!!! YOUR LIFE!!! It'S IN DANGER!!!"
Me :"AWWWWW!!! Wait, what?"

Wolves fed this way, once a day, have lived to be 23 years old.
Feeding a wolf dog food when it is growing up can lead to a deformed esophagus, which can lead to health problems down the road. (They need bones, meat, etc) Actually, the blue eyed wolf, who starred in the movie "Twilight" (Or his likeness) suffered from this condition, and at one point a vet even wanted to put him down. I argued against it, they decided to see what would happen, and he lived many more years, after that. But he still had health problems. Just an FYI :)
Oh, and dogs can eat dog food, even when young. FYI XD

I prefer to feed my dog the Prey Model Raw diet (a balance of muscle meat, bone, and organs) because I know how strong of a diet that can be even for domesticated canines.
Once I'm in better financial shape, I will put Duncan back on that, but I totally understand the detrimental crap that "dog food" does and can do.

That is a great diet!
I used to feed my dogs that walmart crap, until i did some research. I feed them Renew Good Life now, it has zero ingredients from China. In fact, the only thing that's sourced from overseas is the coconut oil. (And they love it. Their coats look amazing!)
What you are describing is the ultimate, and it's what I want to do for them. Because they deserve it, they are worth it, you know? My dogs are all I have left, I feel, sometimes.
