Fursuit colouration and placement scrap
How i think i'll arrange the patterning of my oryx's fur. Will be adjusted slightly in order to fit the patterns, depending.
Just a concept thumbnail i found from a while ago. It's like 1.5 square, heh.
The unlabeled crotch and belly/chest midline pieces are going to be a longer white fur, fluff.

Usualy hooves for fursuits involve some artistic liberty over being entirely realistic, because it has to be. :P As in, longer foot pads than normal, the hoof being over the persons foot, not something they would actually walk in/on. Or a fursuit that makes the legs look a bit bent without the wearers legs being bent. Not that I'm any expert, it's just the little I hear or figure about this sort of thing.
Indeed but there are a few options and tricks avaible to creat the impression of a hoof. Basically using a highheel as a base you have enough room to "put" the toes in the hoof and the rest of the foot in the lower leg. I know its quite tricky to get right but I have seen some goat suits where it worked.
For an elegant suit like this I would recommend using ballerina shoes becaus it will be easy to maintain the tightness (slenderness) of the suit and still give and impression of a hoof.

This one's just going to be plantigrade. I know the principle of how to make a fursuit give the illusion of digitigrade/unguligrade feet (i made hoof boots for my first costume, though that's even more 'realistic' since the heels truly are elevated) but this suit is going to be designed for comfort, and without hard parts that could hurt someone if i were to wrestle :P
I'll post pictures when i'm done, which will hopefully be in about 1.5 months. (or sooner?)

I was considering it. Here's what I plan to do; I'll draft the basic suit-pattern as a jumpsuit. And I'll do a prototype pattern with the pieces separated out into the markings, with all the female curvy bits added. I'll send both of those to you, so you can play with them and test them out. And then you can let me know how they work out. *grins* Your drawing is detailed enough, actually. All of the different blocks of colour are completely visible and easy to plan out.
Alright :) ...i suppose it could be said that that stripes along the sides (the part that isn't too easy to see here) go from the chest all the way to the knees - though it gets wider on the bottom, and it curves around a bit. I guess you can sort of see it in the back view too if you look closely...
I will play with the design and see how it comes out when i first put it together, anywhow. It certainly can't hurt to have a head start :) Thanks!
