I picked up a heap of old tools, nuts bolts, pieces of steel and what not that were being thrown out. I found this piece of brass with a slot milled into one end, no idea if it was originally a sliding T bevel but it is now. The brass was nearly black with tarnish and dirt and grease, a little bit of doing my little dance infront of my buffing machine worked wonders. The wood is an old hunk of jarrah or something, no idea really, it was an old piece of something that was originally painted, a little time with a jack plane brought it upto square, beeswax finish.
