Just something that's been bothering me- Attention Deficit is kicking my butt- between work, commissions, even just keeping up w/ IMs... I dunno... things that should be no problem, like holding a conversation, just keep getting harder and harder.
But if this DOES fix things, what's that say about me? I mean, does my value as a human being depend entirely on what drugs I'm taking? I can't tell you how uncomfortable I am with that. I just don't want to be useless- why does that seem like so much to ask?
Sry about bein kinda emo here, guys. Just venting a bit. no worries.

Speaking as someone who dispenses such pills for a living, I can assure you that medication(when taken properly, of course) is there to help you. It does not define you, or alter your value as a human being. It's just there to help you overcome a hurdle your facing, so you can be the best person you can be. That's all.
As chemically driven as we are it is not the chemicals that make us who we are, it is our decisions.
You are NOT considering taking medications to escape from a problem or forget it exists, you are looking at using them to help you confront the problem head on. If you make that decision then what it says about you is that you recognize the need to face the problem and that you may need help doing so. No drug will "fix things" but they may give you the edge you need to fix them yourself.
That probably sounds real good coming from someone who avoids medication whenever possible, but it is what it is.

If it wasn't for the pills im on i would be dead by now. So im a bit bias.. still if they help and you keeping steady with them would make you feel a ton better.
We're big bouncy piles of chemicals, some times they need adjustment back into balance. It not degrading to you in any way.
bleh... sorry not much help here.

I used to take medication like that... didn't know it was a big deal, used to be all like "I'm on MEDS 8D" to everybody I met.
...Okay, maybe that was an exaggeration, but at the time, it just... wasn't a big deal to me. I discussed with the doctor what we thought was important, and really in the end, it just didn't fit me.
But the thing was, It was an attempt to improve my quality of life, and that's all it really is, Janus. You're upset and frustrated and grumbly because things just darn aren't working right, and by extension you'll wind up making it a big, upsetting, frustrating, grumbly deal.
Just relax, forget about the silly notion that it's going to define you. You define you, with all the kinks and quirks that come with ya, and nothing will stop us from loving you for it. x3

i know the feeling, ive been taking Adderall for my ADD since i was like 11, and im 21 now and still taking it almost every day. my huge issue with it is that the dose works for when im at work and doing important stuff but when i get home it's long since worn off, and i get nothing important done without serious prodding from my parents.
and it's stupid that there are things i can focus on doing without the meds, but it's never anything important. i can play video games just as good with or without adderall, but when i write im better on meds, same with focusing on work, school, chores, etc... i can function without my meds but i get very scatterbrained and sometimes forgetful which winds up being a pain in the ass while im at work. i never take my pills on weekends though, unless im working on saturday.
im more upset on how much my life revolves around caffeine and sleep aids than adderall, i cant always get to sleep without sleep aids, and i cant always drag myself out of bed without caffeine... believe me THAT is a real pain...
