Yeah, I have a game called 'Dead to Rights Retribution' where you actually do have a canine companion watching your back, and on some levels you even play as the dog. But unlike Stalker and Metro, it is a third-person shooter and has a different storyline about a police officer (you) and his dog, trying to control a corrupt city crumbling under gang violence. It's a pretty good game, quite dramatic as well.
